I came across the above blog post today. The author gives a a pictorial time line of Beyonce's movements all through out her pregnancy until birth to prove that Beyonce never carried a child.

I thought it was rather amusing, to see the time and effort she went to to prove Beyonce's fake pregnancy. But, if you did think Beyonce was pregnant, then this blog post definitely puts doubts in your mind.

I don't know whether she carried her baby or used a surrogate - nobody knows really. All I know is that she has a child that is set up for life. I'm sure she and Jay Z will be wonderful parents and that at the end of the day is all that really matters

Racism against chinese people

So, I was reading the Guardian newspaper as I do every lunch time and came across this article about racism against Chinese people.

I have never really thought about racism against Chinese people before until this article. My perception was that of all the "ethnics" in the UK, Chinese people had it pretty easy. The only time I've ever really thought about it is when watching TV. Very few Asian actors on any British soaps and even on any TV show. I've always wondered why this is but never gave too much thought to it.

I remember Big Brother a few years back had a Chinese character from Liverpool. I was surprised that she didn't fit all the stereotypes of a Chinese woman (e.g respectful, quiet, ladylike). Instead she was loud, brash and loved to drink. Normally, this type of person would have turned me off, but I think the fact that she was Chinese made me sit up and take notice and almost feel , it sounds crazy I know, but proud of her for not being the stereotype, even though the stereotype as it were is always positive.

I've found society holds them in high regard - their academic prowess being one of the things highlighted about all that is great about Chinese people. So, imagine my surprise when I read this article.

At first, I was like, what is the author talking about? Chinese people have it pretty damn easy and if they choose not to complain about racism, then nobody will ever know about it.

I have two experiences of Chinese people, the ones that are really friendly and want to be my friend and learn all they can about my hair for some reason and the others that are straight up racist. I think the latter experience was in my head when I read this article because the first thought I had was, they are the most racist people I know, so I don't really care about their experience, after all, I know they would never stand up and demand equal treatment for me.

But then, as I really considered the point being made, I remembered how I felt about the Chinese girl on Big Brother, and I agreed with the author. We should all have equal access to all opportunities regardless of our ethnicity. Actors are actors because they can inspire their audience to believe in the character they are playing. I can suspend my disbelief and any latent stereotypes I have about people and believe in live the character they are playing.

Anyway, the conclusion I reached is that just because someone is racist towards me, that doesn't mean I should abandon my belief in equality and should challenge any instances of racism I come across regardless of whether the perpetrator would defend me or not.

you, don't mean you shouldn't point of this post is, not to always have the belief that we are all equal and therefore should have equal access, even if one group seems to have more than the other.
